Another Cross to Bear
September 11, 2001

Calamity unfolded
the inhumanity of man showed its ugly face
misused America's way for evil and shed our country's blood
murdering hearts and souls in complete innocence . . . cold calculation
the inhumanity of man constructed this deadly plan
for reasons unutterable and insane
to stalk us as we live the mundane
what a cruel day to ascertain
terror has left some weeping and others waiting
in a country passionately praying that peace will come.
pure devastation in Manhattan, Pennsylvania . . . D.C.
how could this horrific tragedy come to be
this dreadful storm we hoped never to see
but a warpath arises from the disastrous dust
someone blatantly took advantage of the kindness in US
from a distance they claimed American life
wreaking havoc on freedom and bringing strife
unsurprisingly the devil hides his irreverent face
thought he'd left each scene without a trace
but the Judgement of God will bring justice, not revenge
may this beastly evil be removed from men
God bless us all, every heart everywhere
as humanity faces tragedy . . . another cross to bear.

In The Midst Of It All

In the midst of it all
beautiful America suffers loss
and we are left with the inevitable
. . . taking up another cross.

In the midst of national pain
there is still an axe to grind
a cause to carefully claim
. . . innocent victims to find.

In the midst of it all
the scope of sudden sorrow
there's prospective peace and comfort
in the arrival of tomorrow.

In the midst of the world's wildest chaos
strong souls steadily survive
to lead a nation from diabolical dust
its dying heart to revive.

In the midst of it all
we have a joint cross to bear
in the midst of sacrificial moments
can freedom count on you to be there?
