Last Saturday's at Iris Art Shop. The Last Saturday of every month, Iris Art shop in Poquson hosts a poetry reading and discussion by a featured poet/poets from the Hampton Roads area. This series is hosted by Nancy Powell, VP of the Eastern Region of the Poetry Society of Virginia. Iris Art Shop is located at 454D Wythe Creek Road, Poquoson, VA 23662, Telephone: (757) 868-4205. This is a relaxed venue with wine and cheese for the participants and audience. There is no cover charge.

Reading in Williamsburg

First Saturday

Saturday Poetry Series
In Williamsburg, the Poetry Society of Virginia and the Williamsburg Regional Library co-sponsor poetry readings on the first Saturday of the month, September through June. Each reading features three poets, combining for a one-hour program. Poets from the Hampton Roads area, Richmond, Fairfax, the Northern Neck, etc. have joined the Williamsburg-area poets to present these programs. They are held in the Kitzinger Community Room of the James City County Library at 11:00am on the first Saturday of the month. Audiences have ranged from 20-35. Admission is free.

Poets Anonymous

Second Saturday

Poets Anonymous meets the second Saturday of every month at 2:00 p.m. at Red, Hot and Blue Restaurant in Fairfax City, Virginia (next to the Jail!). These are informal gatherings and all ages, races, and philosophies are invited. Poets Anonymous celebrated its tenth anniversary on Saturday, November 10, 2001.
