Announcing the 2019 Poetry Society of Virgina Contest Awards Ceremony

You are cordially invited to join the Poetry Society of Virginia as it convenes for the annual reading of winning poems from our poetry contests. This year the event will take place at the Stryker Center in Williamsburg, Virginia on June 1st from 11AM to 2PM. All poetry contest winners will receive a certificate of award in person at the ceremony. Those unable to attend in person will receive them via postal mail. Award winners are invited to read their poems in person.

We're working on logistics for this, so please check back on the event page to stay apprised of up to the minute info.

Due to the number of contests and the limited time allowed at the venue, readers will be presented in order of first place winners, second place winners, and third place winners as time allows. We ask that readers limit comments on their work and focus on the presentation of the winning poem so that as many readers as possible will be able to present.

The Stryker Center is located at 412 N. Boundary St., Williamsburg, Va. Click here for a Google Map.

We will not be providing meal options this year, however snacks will be made available gratis and there are several restaurants close by where members may convene afterwards for lunch or fellowship.

We eagerly anticipate this event. Winning poets will be notified before hand and announcement with places in all categories will be made on the website by May 20th. We hope to see you there!
